Born in Hong Kong. Chan went abroad to study art in Toronto, Canada at the age of 17 and received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Arts degree from York University of Toronto. Chan has worked in various fields of art as a graphic designer, a free-lance artist and a painter. Her works have been an interest of collection by private and corporate collectors in Hong Kong and China since she turns professional. She works with various medium including acrylics and oil paints, but fell in love with acrylics because she finds acrylics pigment complementing her dynamic brush strokes and intense colours with its rapid dryness.
Chan is known for her style of impasto effects, which is evidently the mark of a confident and vivid-moving hand. She started on ‘The Ark’ Collection in 2011 together with the Breathe Life Arts Exhibition. By putting a different species of animals in every paintings of this series, she hopes to relate to what Noah did with the Ark - saving animals from extinction by raising awareness to environmental protection through art.
