LIU AN 柳岸
Liuan was born in 1951 and is originally from Harbin. He is the member of Heilongjiang Artist Association, Shanghai Artists Association and China Artists Association. In the 70s, he started announcing painting works.
In 1982, he held his personal exhibition in the China Arts Gallery in Paris, France. Six pieces of works from his “Still Life” Series were introduced, collected and kept by China Arts Magazine. After that, he attended many exhibitions continuously and got some prizes.
Since 90s, he started his professional painting career formally. At the same time he published a lot of prose and comments on the art; he also worked as a part time college professor in his spare time. As he fully focuses on painting, he has not engaged in other activities.
In 2000, “Liuan Oil Painting Art Exhibition” was held under the sponsorship of the Heilongjiang Art Museum. The series of oil paintings which topics are “Affection For Native Place”, “Childhood” and “Sunflower” were collected and kept by private collectors and art galleries in Europe and America.
In 2002, Liuan sojourned as a professional painter and freelance writer in Shanghai... Among the oil paintings that he created in Shanghai, the series of “Somniloquy” have been collected and kept by European and American; a small part of that series was collected by local personages. Additionally, six companies including China Venture Capital Company Limited and Shanghai East Talent Consulting Company Limited collect Liuan’s long-term works.
